Christmas Eve Worship

Everyone is invited to our Christmas Eve Worship service!

We will be holding “Drive-In Worship” on December 24 at 7:00PM – everyone is invited to attend. While we typically hold worship in our sanctuary space, the rapid spread of COVID-19 in and surrounding Blackford County means we, like God, will do something new this Christmas.

Worship will begin at approximately 7:00PM. The best place to be is our parking lot on the southeast corner of our building. Attendees will then be able to turn their radio to a frequency that will permit you to hear the worship service from your car. Worship leaders will be outside and near the same corner of the building. Consider bringing a flashlight to see better in your vehicle – and maybe a little hot chocolate to stay warm!

Our worship service will include scripture reading, prayers, Christmas hymns, and a brief message to celebrate the fact that God loved the world so very deeply that Jesus came to us. Nothing can stop the love of God for the world and nothing (not even a pandemic!) will stop our rejoicing and celebrating God’s coming.

The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at our worship service. Individual portions of communion will be passed out by worship leaders for all who wish to partake. Lutherans believe that Jesus is truly present in the bread and wine (grape juice) elements of communion and trust in the words “given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins.”

I am about to do a new thing;
    now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
